Goodwood races, Idris Elba DJs.

Dalia and I, friends since school, now go to 3 Friday Nights at Goodwood every year. It's a great event 'cause you get to enjoy horse racing, lovely food and drink, and then get to dance your socks off to a hot DJ.  In this case, both meanings of the word "hot", we got Idris Elba!  Who knew such an amazing actor was also a great DJ.

My beautiful dress was bought in Melbourne in January and is designed by New Yorker Kate Kosek for Gorman.  Wow, what an international and colourful dress! Thankfully, I also took my new but not worn summer coat from Indigo in Chichester, designed by James Lakeland.  That kept me snug as a bug and looked great.  We didn't need to wear hats for this event but I wore a gorgeous silk scarf round my head from Elif Kose in Brighton to add a bit of pizzazz. It sort of went with the dress and drew a lot of attention!  Me, invisible? No way! 

There are lots of eateries at Goodwood and we had a great table watching the horses go by, eating delicious & healthy food, and most importantly keeping our table for the whole evening so we could go to a race, come back, warm up and eat another course or have another glass of Prosecco!  Get there early is my advice.  We have sat down for supper at 5.00 pm 2 years running, but we manage to make it last till 9.00 pm when the last race is over and the dancing begins! Thank you Millie for looking after us so well.

Most importantly, the day was made by meeting some very funky fashionistas who just prove that whatever age you are you can look fantastic.  Gabrielle, Caroline and Judith it was an absolute pleasure to meet you and photograph you!  I Like Your Style!

and as for the shoes we saw out and about, amaaazing...........

Idris Elba finished off our terrific day at the races with a great show and DJ set. We danced our socks off, if only we had been wearing them,  and went home late and very happy.  Yet another example of Ageing Disgracefully I'm sure you'll agree!
