How to improve chest & throat wrinkles, and sleep better, in just seven days!
(#AD This is a sponsored post but all views are my own and, as you know, I only work with brands that share my ethics and that I would buy anyway.)
I am about to rave about another miracle cream from PRAI but I’m also going to rave about how important sleep is for our health and our skin - now considered as important as diet, stress management and exercise. More in a bit, but first, the cream…………
You probably know by now what a fan of PRAI products I am. I trialled PRAI’s Ageless Throat & Decolletage day Creme last summer, when I got the most amazing results on my wrinkly chest in just seven days! (You can read my review here). Since then, PRAI has become the No. 1 for skincare products at M & S and constantly sells out.
I’m also a fan of PRAI because their products are reasonably priced, not animal tested, don’t contain any nasties and because they donate a portion of PRAI's sales to animal charity work, looking after our furry friends!
HOW IT WORKS
Once I got back from hols, with a very brown chest, I started the seven day trial by applying a pea sized dollop of the cream at night, making sure to start at the bottom of my chest, sweeping upwards - always sweeping upwards - right up to my chin. We have enough problems with everything heading South as we get older so sweeping upwards with all beauty products used above the boobs is a no brainer. (You can see me applying it on my Instagram feed, here.) And voila, just a week later the results speak for themselves! More work needed on my slight turkey neck, but am thrilled with the results so far.
CLINICALLY PROVEN.
The Ageless Throat & Decolletage Night Creme is clinically proven to renew and repair your skin in only seven days. In trials, 80% found a decrease in wrinkles, 81% said their skin was more toned and lifted, whilst 80% agreed their skin was more hydrated. What’s different about this brand new creme compared to the day cream? This one contains two forms of retinol, proven to renew and repair sun damaged skin. Something I really needed after my trip. Plus lots of other goodies……..
INGREDIENTS
The key ingredients to recharge your skin while you sleep are retinol and hyaluronic acid, ingredients that your skin just loves, plus some other great natural ingredients……….
There are two forms of retinol; one is a well-balanced retinol complex that helps skin renew itself, improve its elasticity and reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The other is a retinol with time-release delivery. The skin converts it as needed into retinoic acid (a form of Vitamin A to you and me) to help renew itself, encouraging collagen and hyaluronic acid production for a younger looking appearance.
It also contains Wellagyl, derived from Bulgarian Rose rich in oligosaccharides. When tested on the neck, it has been shown to help increase the skin’s hydration, firmness and radiance while diminishing the look of fine lines and wrinkles. Did you know I am half-Bulgarian? I know how good for the skin Bulgarian rose oil is so am well impressed that this is included in the night creme.
Vitamin E, one of the most important anti-oxidants to moisturise the skin from within, especially at night when the skin loses moisture as you sleep.
Finally, the Night creme also contains Sepilift which is also featured in the original Ageless Throat & Decolletage Creme. Sepilift is known for its ability to help restore skin’s elasticity and firmness.
There are other hydrators in the formula which work hard while you sleep including hyaluronic acid, shea butter and aloe.
I am now using the PRAI dynamic duo together: the original Ageless Throat and Decolletage creme for lifting and firming by day and the brand new Ageless Throat & Decolletage Night Creme, (only at night because of the retinol) for repairing my sun damaged skin and get my skin looking even better for those low, summer tops! The two together are a formidable pair for 24 hour skin care.
And while we’re talking about sleep………
I am a podcast addict and am learning more and more about how important sleep is for our health and longevity. My absolute hero, Dr. Chattergee, even includes sleep in his four pillars of health: “The four pillars are: relaxation, food, movement and sleep,” says Chatterjee. “We need complete darkness to sleep soundly as well as avoiding the blue light from smart phones and computers for at least an hour before bed,” he adds.
So, for the sake of a good night’s sleep and my skin, I’ve taken to wearing PRAI’s silk sleeping mask at night as well as using a silk pillow case. Sleeping on silk can help your skin stay healthy and smooth as well as helping to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles, especially those sleeping lines you wake up with! Here are a few more top tips that have really helped me sleep better………
TOP TIPS FOR BETTER SLEEP
Don’t drink coffee after midday. This one has helped my sleep more than anything else. Did you know that a percentage of any caffeine you’ve drunk stays in your blood stream for up to 10 hours? You could have as much as 20% of an afternoon coffee still in your system at midnight! I now drink 2 organic, weak black coffees before midday and a de-caf (Swiss, water-filtered, of course!) at around 2.00 pm when that afternoon slump hits me.
Sleep on your side. Apparently, it helps flush toxins out of the brain! And is also much better for your back. Make sure you’re sleeping on a silk pillow case though to help prevent those sleepy lines!
Learn your own rhythm. I have a lie down at “siesta” time, at 2.00 ish, if I really need it, and meditate for 10 minutes. But don’t sleep for longer than 15 minutes if you want a good night’s sleep.
Get to bed early. Peak sleeping for health is 2-3 a.m. (I was taught, by a naturopath, that this is the most important time for the liver to do its job, while you sleep.) The old adage ‘an hour before midnight is worth two after’ certainly makes sense to me.
Blue light from smart phones, TV & computers. Stop at least an hour before bed, preferably two hours before, and lower all your lights in the house to get your body into sleep mode. Turn your smart phone onto dark mode if you must look at it - which I often do!
Prepare for sleep 1-2 hours before bed by having a relaxing Epsom Salt Bath (click here for more info on why these are the best baths in the world), a short meditation, or a quiet read. At least three times a week, I like to get into my pjs nice and early, clean my teeth (then I won’t snack!) & remove make up etc. so I’m all ready for bed.
Set a constant wake time: You can’t make up for a lack of sleep by sleeping in at the weekend and then storing the extra hours.
I do my To Do list early in the evening so I’m not kept awake worrying about all the stuff I have to do the next day. It really helps ground me.
Exercise during the day in daylight and maybe walk the dog, or yourself, around the block 2 hours before bed time if you need to wind down after a frantic day.
If you have a snoring partner, get all the help you can, such as nasal breathing strips, or move room!
Bedrooms need to be cool at night for optimum deep sleep so try and keep the temperature to around 18/64.
I love a drink with my meal when I’m out for dinner but, unfortunately, the older I get the more it affects my sleep - especially red wine. Alcohol sedates but doesn’t aid sleep. It fragments sleep so you feel exhausted the next day and also blocks REM (dream sleep)……even just one glass affects restorative sleep.
Eat tryptophan-rich foods to help you get to sleep easily, but not too late: chicken, turkey, cheese, fish, bananas, milk and nuts can all help.
And, finally, check your mattress and change every eight to fifteen years, depending on the manufacturers’ advice.
I hope these sleeping tips help and do let me know by popping a comment in below. More importantly, I would love to hear how you get on with PRAI’S newest product. If their best-selling day creme is anything to go by, selling one every 60 seconds, the new night creme will be running out fast!
