You probably know by now that, despite my age, I love "raving". Nothing makes me happier than loud dance music DJ'd by a Famous where I can dance my socks off and forget my ageing bones! Fortunately, one of my oldest school friends, Dalia, also loves dancing and, even more fortunately for me, she's a Goodwood Member of the Richmond Enclosure, which means we can have a rave night in total comfort!
I am sure you saw a couple of "summer" blogs I posted in April, while we all waited for summer to actually arrive in the UK. Still waiting! I enjoyed a lovely collaboration with East Clothing, who sent me all sorts of goodies out to Australia to photograph whilst I was there.
It's not often that women between 54 and 74 are invited to appear in a national newspaper as "four stylish Instagrammers" (IF it gets published!). So I thought you might like to have a behind-the-scenes look at what we got up to on a thoroughly enjoyable day out in London town. All the photos were taken with various i-phones so are not the best quality, but the lighting was fabulously kind to us all & we had a ball.
Meeting a talented Byron Bay designer all started with these trousers! I needed something for cooler weather, but not necessarily cold weather, when I arrived in Sydney three months ago. And, lucky for me, I found these in a 50% off sale by the trendy Aussie Tiger Lily brand. Then it was the big hunt for a top to go with them. Nothing I brought from the UK really worked and I wanted something as crazily patterned as these bad boys. Enter a little beach market in Byron...........
You know how much I love digging around in vintage markets, charity and pre-owned shops, as well as the High Street. So I just had to share this fabulous dress with you to encourage & hopefully inspire you to scour the markets, search on-line and generally have a good dig around for a true bargain. I was so happy with this pre-owned dress, from Harlem in Hove, that I wore it for my birthday lunch (with a vest and short leggings underneath!) and paired it with my very old pink Camper heels & a black cashmere cardi from Boden. Not my usual vintage look but love it as a party dress - perfect for the run up to Christmas.
